School History

As an out-growth of Shepherd Tutors, Ketu, established in 1988, Good Shepherd Schools took off in 1993 with the Nursery and Primary School. There were 12 pupils and 3 teachers. The establishment of the secondary arm of the school was later necessitated by the need to cater for the post-primary education of the primary school leavers. Therefore in 1995, the full secondary school was established with a total of 11 pioneering students and 7 teachers. Today, the school has grown in leaps and bounds with a student population in the neighbourhood of 2000. This large student body is drawn from widely-varying and diverse geographical and socio-economic strata.

Operating on a multi-campus basis comprising the Nursery, Primary, Junior, and Senior High, the Good Shepherd Group of Schools has become a household name as a school reputed for moral sanctity and academic soundness. Owing to this high intellectual and moral tone, the school also enjoys wide recognition from large examination bodies like WAEC and NECO as a frontliner and a vanguard in the war against academic fraud and moral decadence. An ostensible manifestation of this high reputation was the award won by the school on 30th November, 2005 as ‘The Best School in Lagos State.’
